Favorite books
My favorite book would have to be "Oliver Twist" by Charles Dickens, I love the nineteenth century writings of this magnificent author and the themes he writes about. The theme of this story and many of his writings deal with poverty and how an individual copes with it and leaves poverty behind them. At least that is what I got from this story. A lot of nineteenth century novels are hard for me to comprehend but Charles Dickens' books are easy to read and comprehend. Another favorite book of mine is a guilty pleasure and it is by Jackie Collins. It is called "Hollywood Wives" and it is filled with lurid details about what Hollywood what was like in the author's mind in a fictious view.

What is pride to me?
The pride fesitval is coming up this saturday and I am planning to attend with my significant other and I am thrilled to be going this year not alone! But it is more than that, it is going and showing my pride and being proud of who I am. I am thrilled that the Sacramento Public Library is taking part of this through the outreach program, it makes me even more proud to be working in the system as an LSA.
When I think of the word 'pride', I think of is being at peace at who I am and not caring what people think of me. I take pride in my work, life and other joys as well. I think of the pride festival in that way myself, that people are coming out and celebrating themselves.

Paitence
A great challange for me is paitence, especially since I am working with the public as an on-call LSA. This job has made me become more paitent with people, even though it is severely tested many times. I used to be not as paitent as I am now, I use to fly off the handle right away, but since I am an LSA, it has mellowed me out in a lot of ways and I am grateful for it.

Perks of an on-call LSA
The most important thing about being an on-call LSA is that I love my job and enjoy what I am doing. Serving the public means alot to me and traveling around branch to branch is something I enjoy doing. I have been doing this for three an a half years and would never trade it for the world!

Washington DC
In the first week of July, I'll be leaving for Washington DC and stay for eight days. I am going with my dad and I am so excited. I went there last year and absolutely loved it. I saw so many sites such as the smithsonian institute, the newseum, the lincoln memorial and so much more, but there were still many sites to see that I haven't seen like Georgetown and parts of Virginia such as Mount Vernon and Monticello. In fact my dad and I are going to stay at the Omni Hotel in Virginia, it is near the bridge that seperates Virginia and DC. I want to see Ford's theatre where Lincoln was shot, I tried going there last year but it was closed because of the rennovation for his 200th birthday. I absolutely love reading about Lincoln and history itself, it reminds me of how far this country has come so far.
